 Hallo there :)

Just joined, and interested in the drow from the *otherkin* point of view... I have been awakened to being an elven soul for about a year now, and know that there are quite a few elven lives in my background, and while I only recall two clearly, and they are not drow, I suspect that earlier on I did have drow lives, as I am instinctively pulled to having a feeling of kinship with the drow (if any of that makes sense).

And on the light side of things, a few months back I was looking at some stone circles in Cornwall (UK) with some friends on a road trip, and in a quarry, discovered this notice - with an interesting mis-spelling *grin*.

Hi, I'm new here. I'm also new to the whole Otherkin thing. I have a bunch of friends who are Otherkin, and have been Awakened to it for years, but I myself was firmly of the belief I was human until recently. Now, I'm not sure what I am yet, but I am strongly pulled to the Drow. I haven't read any stories or novels with them yet, but I have one story ready to start, and the first novel in the series about Drizzt Do'orden on hold at the library. Also, I've read a lot about the Drow online, and been told about them by knowledgeable friends, so I know that in fiction, they're portrayed as evil. Drizzt is a rare good Drow, from what I hear. I was wondering what your take is on it, considering that I feel drawn to the Drow but I am not evil; I'm sure there are others who feel that way. So do you think we're exceptions, or have the humans got the Drow all wrong?

Being new to this Drow business, I would appreciate references to web sites and other research concerning Drow culture, language, and so on. Suggestions of fiction books and stories to read with Drow in them are greatly appreciated, too.

Though new to this, I already have a Drow name. Belneerimyl Do'ana is my Drow name. Here is the meaning:

Bel - Burned, burning, fire, flame
Neer - Core, root, strong
Im - Devoted, heart, love
yl - Drow; woman/man

Do' - Walkers in
ana - the night

I used this site to come up with the name.

Oh, and this may seem weird, but if there's any customary Drow greetings and farewells, I would like to know that as well. Before my Awakening, I used to sign off all my posts with "With utmost sincerity; ---Alex Antonin". But now I need something new that fits the Drow; specifically, something that would fit a non-evil Drow like Drizzt. Or just tell me if what I came up with for this post is good or not, if you would please.

Walk well, my Brethren;
---Belneerimyl Do'ana

songs that particularly may make you think of Drow.
I was listening to Exterminate Annihilate Destroy by Rotersand. and it did make me think of Drow and their murderous/xenophobic tenancies we all love them for. The lyrics in particular make me think of their relationship with lolth/other drow gods and priestesses in general. To the extent I want to make a music video for it ^^;

give me your faith, something i can believe in
and you'll be my family, my brother, my friend
tell me a truth that i find not deceiving
teach me a lesson that i understand

build me a shelter, a place i can dwell in
show me a future that i can enjoy
give me a reason and i'll be your fellow
show me the target i have to destroy

exterminate annihilate destroy

show me my leader and i'll pledge obedience
whisper the name of the enemy mine
blessed be my fate and my tools of expedience
i'm going to fulfil what's my mission divine

exterminate annihilate destroy

so what songs remind you of drow and why?

Some dark elf art
I recently drew my Dark elf self, Atsirk AriamDi. You can see it on DA here.
Also, if it pleases you, I compaired it to a pic of Atty from 2001, the one in my icon in fact, just to show improvement. The comparison is here.

This is the first time I did some worksafe drow art in...a long time.

Hello. I just joined this community. I love reading books that are about (or involve) Drow. Just finished reading Cunningham's Starlight and Shadows trilogy. ^^; The only thing I'm noticing about the community is that it doesn't appear to be active..

Erm.. "we love the darkness, we love the chaos, the death, we swear loyalty to lloth and unending fealty" is in the community description. Not all Drow worship Lolth. xP

Allright everyone, I was looking to find a good online game/mud/etc. for playing drow in. Prefferably one with a community of drow players, and all the backstabbing, cruelty, evil, Machiavellian polotics and generally un-PC behavior that implies.

I figured you folks might have some ideas.

New here.
Hey, everyone. I was looking through LJ communities when I stumbled upon this one. Elves and Drow are two of my favorite races, so I decided to join. My favorite Drow character is Nathyrra from Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. My Drow character is NightEyes, a chaotic Good Druid on Neverwinter Nights .

A nice Drow piccy for you...
Okay, so my husband is an artist. He usually does furry art, but I finally convinced him to take a stab at drawing my own beloved alter ego, Tali.

So... here we have Talisantia T'Sarran Rancourt, the Spider Killer.

Greetings, one and all...
I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself (or rather, my Drow identity) to the community.

My name is Talisantia T'Sarran Rancourt. I was born in the city of Menzoberranzan, but left at a young age to pursue life as a sailor on Spelljammer ships. I found out along the way that I am actually a limited shapeshifter, product of my mother's alliance with the demon prince Bhoca Lhor, but Drow is my true form.

It's been a very interesting life... I fought in the Illithid Wars on a number of distant planets... I spent thirty years with a kitsune (a shapeshifting fox-spirit of the East) and bore him two children, twins... I wound up in a strange world where technical devices are more commonplace than magic, where I made friends with a shade and took a wolfman as my husband, taking his family name as is the tradition of his people. I eventually became a vampire myself, but that's yet another long story.

Now, it seems, I have immortality ahead of me as one of the undead, provided I'm careful. How will I spend the centuries, you ask? How else... carefully and extensively plotting and executing my revenge against my father, and against the goddess that destroyed my family...

Now, to drop out of character for a moment... Tali is a character I've played for eleven years now. She started in a D&D game when I was young, carried over to a MUCK I've been on for nine years (in a city that's sort of a mixture of Call of Cthulhu, White Wolf's WoD, and Shadowrun), and carried over from there into a series of stories my husband, several friends, and I are working on. She's a half-Drow, half-demon, shapeshifting vampire plotting her vengeance against her father and Lolth (who destroyed her family for allowing her to escape Faerun).

Anyway, nice to meet you all!
